The three Greatest metal Albums of all times were released in a short Period during 1981 and 82 . Screaming for Vengance, Diary of a Madman, and Number of the Beast. Why are they signifigant? Because of the payola radio at the time, Disco,fake punk, New Wave, etc that radio was ramming down everyone"s throats, as well as MTV. These albums succeeeded AND outsold their PAYOLA counterparts despite no serious airplay in the US. Why? They were truly great. .

When I think of metalcore, I think more technical hardcore without the whiny vocals. Yes they lean on that drop... A or whatever, and use breakdowns like a crutch. But I would consider ATR for instance metalcore (at least they were). And they were technical as fuck.

Im sure it has great stuff, my point wasn't to try and praise a genre over another one, I'm just saying people seem to generalize all metalcore together as just chugs, when in reality there are a lot of bands who have amazing guitar skill, I Am Abomination for example has an amazing guitarist.

Well yes and no. ...

Well yes and no. Metalcore today is just really simplistic. People hate it because of the over use of breakdowns, and the same note rhythms. Some of these bands also use techno in the music, and have a pop like feel to it. So for some one who likes death or black metal, this genre is weak in delivery. Hence why there is a crowd that hates core.

Well a lot of people see them as metal core because of the fact that they do use breakdowns in songwriting. Just because this guy can't write an original piece of metalcore, doesn't mean other musicians can't.
